Wedding Shoes

Brides normally have long list of To-Do and To-Buy
However many have put less priority for wedding shoes.
Probably because it is placed at UNSEEN areas (legs) or
Brides have the mentality that with gorgeous dress and flower bouquets,
The look is already completed.

Well I think this is a common mistake done in Malaysia
We put lack of priority here.
I have witnessed that the shoes were too formal for such event, or even mismatched in terms of colors and design.
Worst, it is looked NOT at new shoes anymore.
Sigh…  It is kind of frustrating to see this.

Here is some of our checklist on wedding shoes

  1.  Finding a right wedding shoe is a MUST. Brides wear only complete when wedding shoes are also being considered. If you are hiring a designer for your bride dress, let them design/ provide it as well if they offer such service. Could be a bit expensive but worth the time and effort finding the shoes that will compliment the beautiful dress rightly.
  2. If NO, and you have to source your own wedding shoes, please make some study on the design that would match your dress. (i.e. with laces, blings, white colour vs ivory etc.)
  3.  Scout for shops that sell beautiful shoes that are under your budget. Some great retailers that offer affordable wedding shoes are NINE WEST, LEWRE, PRIMAVERA etc. But if the kind of shoes design/ colours are available at other brands, than be it. Of course, if you have that extra budget, STUART WEITZMAN, or JIMMY CHOO has amazing wedding shoes.
  4.  If you are looking for simple white shoes but to be used for long term, try add up nice bling brooch at the shoes during the wedding. Post wedding, the shoes could still be used for other function and so does the brooch!
  5.  If you are not planning to buy a new one and to use the current, just make sure it is in good and clean conditions. OP nowadays love to snap the wedding shoes shot.
  6. Normally, shoes with minimum of 2 inches heels are acceptable. It will give you the extra tall that you need and great for Picture Perfect. However if you have some tall issues with your dear husband, during photo shoot session, try to adjust your knee. J

Unnecessary Stress after marriage

Hello darlings,

What i am going to blog today might not related so much on wedding.
But this is the real true story of post wedding..
Especially inside this malay community which may be culture defines as 'normal'

Topic is : "Bila nak ada isi"

So dearly brides at home;
Please raise your hand if you were bombarded with this questions
to your wedding that not even a year old!

(me!me!me!)

Not to panic you but the questions will generally sounds 'normal' to every newly bride
Why i said "panic' truly because after a while (still within a year)...
The question which you thought will never bother
Eventually will spark you that question....
"Kenapa i tak berisi"
Then, all the assumptions and thoughts arise!or which i claimed as;
"the unnecessary stress"

Yes, you may have thought,
1) Dont bother; but you can't lie to yourself
2) Prepare the script (2 sets actually)... A polite versus sarcastic ; but explaining to every kenduri kendara or friends gathering simply an't worth it!
3) Avoiding social meet; why should i?
4) Change the topic - Seriously, 'they' will still coming back

So dearly brides,
Just prepare yourself mentally.
Meaning so; some of the options mentioned above could be applied on certain occasion.
and; perhaps you could educate your close families and friends that;
you are in the 'honeymoon' mood or you have been trying (like seriously)
But, belum ada rezeki...
Hopes, somehow they will stop eventually...

Special Performance during wedding reception

Have you ever attended a wedding at hall/hotel, and been waiting what is the special performance for the bride&groom and the guest?
If you are, well you are not alone!
Despite the beautiful hall decor, delicious foods and moments of bride&groom,
Special performance does contribute to the complete experience!

Firstly- The celebrities.
Having them live singing that beautiful love songs always been the favourite. Yes, it somehow portrays that “exclusive” image of a particular wedding. Although may be for just one or two songs, they appearance always been the most waited performance.

Secondly- The surprise performance by close friends and families.
This has been my very own personal favourite which I could categorise it as “cool” wedding. Most common performance are singings and dancing AND it’s always not a perfect note!  May be not every guest would appreciate it but it certainly it is an unforgettable memories for the bride and groom.  Sometimes, it can turn to some drama when little speech included in between.. (I’ve witnessed a few..). However, i also have witnessed the groom himself sang ‘their’ love songs to the bride accompanied by close friends and families as backup band/singer/dancers. Awhhhh... Lucky you dear bride!! (Jealous....actually)

Thirdly-The live band/dance group.
This has been a pretty much common performance. Normally it is being pre-arranged or packaged up together with the event organiser or hall. For me, it is nice to have but less impact neither to the guest nor the bride&groom. (Sorry)

Fourthly- The Video Performance.
This has been the less complicated performance but created greater impact. It is my favourite and I believed, to many others too. Normally, a dedicated videographer team will be engaged and they will work hard to make beautiful videos; may be the solemnisation moment or even some great love stories. My most memorable ones when the story were turn to some cartoon animations. No real people involved. It was done in simple words and character.  Superb video shows I must say.

Fifthly- The other shows
I could not give the long list of the ‘others’ shows but this would include such as food performance and karaoke session. It is not something big to shout on this, but may be to a simple wedding; this could enlighten the whole wedding ceremony.

There goes how I categorised some best performance during wedding reception. Share with me if you ever experience or you yourself had that during your wedding..
May be its worth sharing and could give some options to bride-to-be.

Wedding Planner

A wedding planner is amongst an important individual in a wedding especially to the western countries.
Previously, only big or celebrities wedding were much related with wedding planner. But now, this person is pretty much common in every wedding.  It somehow proven that Malaysian Wedding Industries has develop and becoming very significant. (A good sign!)
Wedding planner makes the wedding almost perfect in the eye of the bride which everything were taken care while the bride, groom and family focusing on welcoming the guest. Of course, the sacrifice is dollar and scents. But some people prefer it such way as only one focal person to plan, communicate and sometime in certain situation, to complaint.
However please be reminded that one you have hired a wedding planner, full thrust must be given to him/her to make any work or decision making smooth. It’s their job to make your wedding beautiful as per requested and believe me, it is not an easy job either.
High patience required! (Wink)

However, there are still large group of bride and groom prefers to DIY. Adding the personal touch and sentimental value will make the wedding more meaningful.
Well, in this World Wide Web, I bet the bride and groom (or at least just the bride) has make proper study and research. To some, it’s my wedding so I want to do it my way.
In this situation, the bride or groom prefers only select their close family of friends to be in charged on certain thing. Easier on such way as they may be would know the bride and groom better.
Once I attended a wedding, the whole function being planner and organised by group of friends. (They look professional though). So i asked, “you hired an event organizer is it?”.
Surprisingly she said, that she and her group of closed friends had make an effort to built close network and becoming an event planner to any of circle’s wedding.
After several wedding, they have become better and planning & organizing wedding seems fun and easy. Great idea right!

On either way, solely depends on the bride and grooms family preference. Check on what are the requirement and budget. Work best from it.
During my time, we hired a wedding planner to take care of “wedding related” i.e.  food, dais, invitation, tent, decor, photographer while the rest of which I categorised as “bride” related i.e. Hantaran, Wedding Gown,  and Gifts handled by another wedding planner – myself. J

After weds, is it still relevant to blog?

From me observation, now many bride-to-be blog on their wed journey.
This has become a healthy trend for the past few years
And we are among bloggers who really enjoyed it!
Seriously! ... with DIY Story and where best to get 'this' and 'that' stuff,
it is unavoidable to read them!

However normally after their 'weds', not many have become actively blogging
Some, just let the blog being hiatus
Some, created another url portraying new topics .
Either way, you know yourself better.
Would you still have the same kind of passion
Or you would continue to inspire others.

Here is my opinion.
People normally blog what is their best interest
By that, you will write something truly meaningful
And additionally, you would inspire many of your blog reader's out there.
So think about it.
Housewife, pregnancy, cooking are all life after weds
Many more to share.
Keep on blogging! But talk something relevant to your life.

If i only have 2D1N for Honeymoon

Lately ive been hearing many of my friends and brides had a pre-honeymoon.
Its lika a short escapade from this hussle KL city.
And this mostly happened always immediately after reception.
This also admitting the fact that they need longer/confortable time
To save some money for the real honeymoon.
Or even they couldn’t get longer leave approved.

However after 3 to 6 month, they will arrange their REAL honeymoon.
I called it a real honeymoon as it is more longer and in planned properly with romantic sight seeing & candle light dinner.
Fav destination mostly are London, Paris, Korea and other destination that similar in excitement.
Here, they can plan better quality activities, upgraded accommodation and longer stay period.
So my talk today is, what if bride only have that 2 Day 1 Night?
And typical hotel stay is not what you are looking for,
Here are some of my thoughts
(Please take note that this is purely based on internet review and website photos)
Should you have experienced this, do share for other brides for info purposed.
1. Jonker Boutique Hotel, Melaka
2. Anggun Boutique Hotel KL
3. Indulgence Restaurant & Living, Ipoh

Selamat Menyambut Ramadhan

I always love Ramadhan...

On behalf of All Labels under Mya&Dyana,
Kami memohon maaf & Agar kita bersama memperolehi kemaafan & keberkatan di bulan Ramadhan ini...
