Every newlywed issues - New Home

I think this has been a norm topic that being discussed for the newly wed.
To buy or To rent?
Landed or High Rise Condo?
City Centre or Sub Urban?
And believed me, the questions never stop there...

If you or your partner have the early prep owning a property before wed,
potentially this would not be that much issue i believed,
But for those who are still in their baby steps building career and family,
The are much more to think.

Property could be anyone nightmare especially when sort of can't afford to own one
And please do not even start with the "dream house"
Believed me, not everyone as lucky as someone or like you.
A new landed house in Klang Valley will easily cost you millions!
With a budget of less RM500k, probably you can own an old house or a newly launched SOHO
But if you are willing to settle down a lil bit outskirt, I believed you could scout some nice house.

So my dearly bride to be, here are my thoughts:-
1. Make early preparation - Own a property at early age.
2. Be willing to sacrifice something now for something else in the future, dream house vs affordable house

Let's be a smart bride!

Pre Honeymoon Talk

Try to remember when did u have a little chatty on your honeymoon plan?
Before wedding? During engagement period of after weds?
Technically (and realistically) b2b already has their wish list
Island, Historical and romantic cities always been the most preferred choice
And of course, subject to each individual budget

But did u remember how your husband or husband to be reacts?
To most I believed are pretty much calm and talks openly on this
But nonetheless, there are still couples that feel more comfortable only at their post wedding.
Whichever period, here are some my personal points, what to discuss on your pre-honeymoon talk: -

1    1. Do both agree to go for honeymoon? (Ground Rules!). It is important to know this in order to avoid assumptions that you both need to get that sweet escape which on reality, your partner feel ‘not necessarily’

2    2. What is an ideal honeymoon for you? You might love London or Paris, but may be he prefers that intimate privacy at Langkawi or Phuket. So it is better to get a mutual agreement, as we want both to be happy!

3    3. To know the minimum requirement. There are many details need to be plan as we brides normally wants to be a special and romantic moment (or at least as per your dream). However this is one of your marriages Principe! It requires both agreement (unless he or you allowed one party to plan or make it as a surprise!). So lets manage that expectation. Other items that fall in this category such as days, budget and activities.

4    4.  Try to be as casual as possible.(You do not want to scare anyone on your OCD or Queen Control attitude… J ) Remember as it supposed to be fun!

Good Luck and happy planning!

Wedding Shoes

Brides normally have long list of To-Do and To-Buy
However many have put less priority for wedding shoes.
Probably because it is placed at UNSEEN areas (legs) or
Brides have the mentality that with gorgeous dress and flower bouquets,
The look is already completed.

Well I think this is a common mistake done in Malaysia
We put lack of priority here.
I have witnessed that the shoes were too formal for such event, or even mismatched in terms of colors and design.
Worst, it is looked NOT at new shoes anymore.
Sigh…  It is kind of frustrating to see this.

Here is some of our checklist on wedding shoes

  1.  Finding a right wedding shoe is a MUST. Brides wear only complete when wedding shoes are also being considered. If you are hiring a designer for your bride dress, let them design/ provide it as well if they offer such service. Could be a bit expensive but worth the time and effort finding the shoes that will compliment the beautiful dress rightly.
  2. If NO, and you have to source your own wedding shoes, please make some study on the design that would match your dress. (i.e. with laces, blings, white colour vs ivory etc.)
  3.  Scout for shops that sell beautiful shoes that are under your budget. Some great retailers that offer affordable wedding shoes are NINE WEST, LEWRE, PRIMAVERA etc. But if the kind of shoes design/ colours are available at other brands, than be it. Of course, if you have that extra budget, STUART WEITZMAN, or JIMMY CHOO has amazing wedding shoes.
  4.  If you are looking for simple white shoes but to be used for long term, try add up nice bling brooch at the shoes during the wedding. Post wedding, the shoes could still be used for other function and so does the brooch!
  5.  If you are not planning to buy a new one and to use the current, just make sure it is in good and clean conditions. OP nowadays love to snap the wedding shoes shot.
  6. Normally, shoes with minimum of 2 inches heels are acceptable. It will give you the extra tall that you need and great for Picture Perfect. However if you have some tall issues with your dear husband, during photo shoot session, try to adjust your knee. J

The Very Beautiful - Dragon Fruits

{pix found here!}

If FRUITS is part in your hantaran list,
Please do consider,
The very beautiful & sexxy Miss Dragon Fruit.

For me personally,
The colour is simply beauitiful! (That dirty pink with greanish by the ends) will definitely enhance the freshness of the fruits.
It is also not so 'cheapo' fruits to be given as your hantaran.

I like the sweet taste
I like the sexxy colour
I like the fact once its being cut to half, the contrast colours amazed me!
I like as it is easy to storage
I like as it is at 'affordable' price
And I like to always suggest my bride-to-be considering this ...

Mya's Tips
1. Do not buy that many pieces for your hantaran.
(Depenable on size of your dulang/cage/basket)

My suggestion always between 2 to 3 ONLY.

2. Spray some water at very last minute to make it look fresh

3. Could be purchased at many market. My fav place are 'cold storage' and Pasar Chow Kit.
