Life in New York

Sorry for the long silence. I took a pause in living in the metropolitan of Kuala Lumpur
for the experience once in a lifetime being in the Big Apple.
What i can said basically ; it is exactly as what i normally watched (and expected) in Spiderman movie, CSI series or any other movies. The rushing crowd, the cool coffee culture, the stylish New Yorker and all other beautiful architecture buildings that impressed me.

I visited to several museums (like an other tourist checklist), walk at 5th and 6th Avenue and spent an hour at Central Park. Oh it was so cosy and relaxing. Highly due to that cold weather (Only 11c but i extremely feel super cold even with my winter jacket). Would like to visit this beautiful city again Insha Allah.

Special Performance during wedding reception

Have you ever attended a wedding at hall/hotel, and been waiting what is the special performance for the bride&groom and the guest?
If you are, well you are not alone!
Despite the beautiful hall decor, delicious foods and moments of bride&groom,
Special performance does contribute to the complete experience!

Firstly- The celebrities.
Having them live singing that beautiful love songs always been the favourite. Yes, it somehow portrays that “exclusive” image of a particular wedding. Although may be for just one or two songs, they appearance always been the most waited performance.

Secondly- The surprise performance by close friends and families.
This has been my very own personal favourite which I could categorise it as “cool” wedding. Most common performance are singings and dancing AND it’s always not a perfect note!  May be not every guest would appreciate it but it certainly it is an unforgettable memories for the bride and groom.  Sometimes, it can turn to some drama when little speech included in between.. (I’ve witnessed a few..). However, i also have witnessed the groom himself sang ‘their’ love songs to the bride accompanied by close friends and families as backup band/singer/dancers. Awhhhh... Lucky you dear bride!! (Jealous....actually)

Thirdly-The live band/dance group.
This has been a pretty much common performance. Normally it is being pre-arranged or packaged up together with the event organiser or hall. For me, it is nice to have but less impact neither to the guest nor the bride&groom. (Sorry)

Fourthly- The Video Performance.
This has been the less complicated performance but created greater impact. It is my favourite and I believed, to many others too. Normally, a dedicated videographer team will be engaged and they will work hard to make beautiful videos; may be the solemnisation moment or even some great love stories. My most memorable ones when the story were turn to some cartoon animations. No real people involved. It was done in simple words and character.  Superb video shows I must say.

Fifthly- The other shows
I could not give the long list of the ‘others’ shows but this would include such as food performance and karaoke session. It is not something big to shout on this, but may be to a simple wedding; this could enlighten the whole wedding ceremony.

There goes how I categorised some best performance during wedding reception. Share with me if you ever experience or you yourself had that during your wedding..
May be its worth sharing and could give some options to bride-to-be.

Wedding Planner

A wedding planner is amongst an important individual in a wedding especially to the western countries.
Previously, only big or celebrities wedding were much related with wedding planner. But now, this person is pretty much common in every wedding.  It somehow proven that Malaysian Wedding Industries has develop and becoming very significant. (A good sign!)
Wedding planner makes the wedding almost perfect in the eye of the bride which everything were taken care while the bride, groom and family focusing on welcoming the guest. Of course, the sacrifice is dollar and scents. But some people prefer it such way as only one focal person to plan, communicate and sometime in certain situation, to complaint.
However please be reminded that one you have hired a wedding planner, full thrust must be given to him/her to make any work or decision making smooth. It’s their job to make your wedding beautiful as per requested and believe me, it is not an easy job either.
High patience required! (Wink)

However, there are still large group of bride and groom prefers to DIY. Adding the personal touch and sentimental value will make the wedding more meaningful.
Well, in this World Wide Web, I bet the bride and groom (or at least just the bride) has make proper study and research. To some, it’s my wedding so I want to do it my way.
In this situation, the bride or groom prefers only select their close family of friends to be in charged on certain thing. Easier on such way as they may be would know the bride and groom better.

Once I attended a wedding, the whole function being planner and organised by group of friends. (They look professional though). So i asked, “you hired an event organizer is it?”.
Surprisingly she said, that she and her group of closed friends had make an effort to built close network and becoming an event planner to any of circle’s wedding.
After several wedding, they have become better and planning & organizing wedding seems fun and easy. Great idea right!

On either way, solely depends on the bride and grooms family preference. Check on what are the requirement and budget. Work best from it.

During my time, we hired a wedding planner to take care of “wedding related” i.e.  food, dais, invitation, tent, decor, photographer while the rest of which I categorised as “bride” related i.e. Hantaran, Wedding Gown,  and Gifts handled by another wedding planner – myself. J

 

 

For 2012, peach is the new Pink...

For 2012 only,
We have recieved many inquiry on Gubahan Hantaran in sweet peach colour.
Every month so far there is always brides confirmed this colour for them (for Big day)
For us, it blend well with gold, silver and white background.

This colour in our opinion simply create that relax romantic mode!
It does also bring that fresh look rather than typical pink flowers.

Story of her dream is my raya story

Hi all my brides...
Hope you have a blast eid fitri. We knew we are!
Hopefully it is not too late for both, mya&dyana
To wish you selamat hari raya aidilfitri
& Maaf zahir batin.

So what is your raya story?
Must be really something interesting & fun and memorable too...

Today, (from his hometown) i decided to post,
A story i heard back in ramadhan about my future bride...
Chasing her dream to become a fashion designer.
But since she has no academic background in this line, she will start small as
the wedding dress designer.. (katanya)

I was touched as she admitted that she has been my silence reader.
Yang best tu, since i started blogging on 4weddingku!
And she has a dream to become like us...
(Seriously, mya&dyana is no biggie nor an idol. we are both so far behind than all successful wedding planner or what ever you may call us)

But i am more excited as she passionly story me where she will be in next 10 years.
(Seriously, at our first meeting, she is really a very nice girl... and funny too)
To some, it may be too long journey...
But to some (similar with our motto)..
As long we will, and we are gonna be there,
Nothing to be impossible..
Biarlah start kecik pun, but at least we start somewhere...
And seriously, along the way... we will learn! (We knew we did)

Somehow, i have the feeling she will be succesful!
She will be recognized as a real fashion designer one day!
I just have the feeling... i just do!

And i tell this story to many my brides who has the dream to start doing thier own business.
Tak kisah lah jual cupcakes, tudung or even kuih raya...
As long we have the passion, insya allah with god's blessing..
We will be who we want to be.
Just do not follow the dream, CHASE them!
