If you are getting married,
Have you ever been into a situation where
It is very difficult to choose the right bridesmaid as you do not want her to steal the limelight?
Or been or attended any wedding where all eyes are more focus to the bridesmaid instead?
Yes, this moment might been ackward but its for REAL!

What i meant by "stealing the limelight" can be either she is seen as more glamourous than the bride or can be somehow, she might have that 'aura' aka louder speaker that might attract anyone in the weds.

Personally, i think it requires both logical and mutual agreement.
If you are a bride, bridesmaid supposed to compliment you!
If you are a bridesmaid, you need to be reminded that it is 'her' big day and not yours. However this will give you a great platform to share some of her nerv, story and feeling being a bride till your right moment comes.

It has been a trend where brides preffer wedding stuff are sync with one of another.
Previously we saw this in "penaggah" where they wore same uniform of baju
(Seriuosly bride ni mesti borong satu papan kat nilai 3. heheh)
Then somehow brides minimize it by may be wearing the same colour mode.
(Yes this includes the cloths, pelamin and even the canopy)
Nowadays, brides becoming more creative and super genious.
They adapt the concept of the wedding into something else more interesting.
I just witnessed it recently. Super gorgeos!
They share the concept of "organza" to the bride gown, gifts and even canopy.

My personal opinion to all future bride,
CUSTOMISED IT and do not scared being Creative!

Story of her dream is my raya story

Hi all my brides...
Hope you have a blast eid fitri. We knew we are!
Hopefully it is not too late for both, mya&dyana
To wish you selamat hari raya aidilfitri
& Maaf zahir batin.

So what is your raya story?
Must be really something interesting & fun and memorable too...

Today, (from his hometown) i decided to post,
A story i heard back in ramadhan about my future bride...
Chasing her dream to become a fashion designer.
But since she has no academic background in this line, she will start small as
the wedding dress designer.. (katanya)

I was touched as she admitted that she has been my silence reader.
Yang best tu, since i started blogging on 4weddingku!
And she has a dream to become like us...
(Seriously, mya&dyana is no biggie nor an idol. we are both so far behind than all successful wedding planner or what ever you may call us)

But i am more excited as she passionly story me where she will be in next 10 years.
(Seriously, at our first meeting, she is really a very nice girl... and funny too)
To some, it may be too long journey...
But to some (similar with our motto)..
As long we will, and we are gonna be there,
Nothing to be impossible..
Biarlah start kecik pun, but at least we start somewhere...
And seriously, along the way... we will learn! (We knew we did)

Somehow, i have the feeling she will be succesful!
She will be recognized as a real fashion designer one day!
I just have the feeling... i just do!

And i tell this story to many my brides who has the dream to start doing thier own business.
Tak kisah lah jual cupcakes, tudung or even kuih raya...
As long we have the passion, insya allah with god's blessing..
We will be who we want to be.

Lately ive been hearing many of my friends and brides had a pre-honeymoon.
Its lika a short escapade from this hussle KL city.
And this mostly happened always immediately after reception.
This also admitting the fact that they need longer/confortable time
To save some money for the real honeymoon.
Or even they couldn’t get longer leave approved.

However after 3 to 6 month, they will arrange their REAL honeymoon.
I called it a real honeymoon as it is more longer and in planned properly with romantic sight seeing & candle light dinner.
Fav destination mostly are London, Paris, Korea and other destination that similar in excitement.
Here, they can plan better quality activities, upgraded accommodation and longer stay period.

So my talk today is, what if bride only have that 2 Day 1 Night?
And typical hotel stay is not what you are looking for,
Here are some of my thoughts

10 Mistakes Newlyweds make

I saw this and somehow.. i think most of it are true..
So i decided to share this with all of you !
(They have 20 reasons but i choose only 10 which i strongly believed .. it happened to most of us in real world)

1. Failing to think beyond the wedding
Some couples get so wrapped up in the wedding festivities that they fail to comprehend what they’re getting themselves into. You’re married. The party was probably a lot of fun, but it was one day. Now, you have to live together, get along, and form your own family. Enjoy the wedding planning and the afterglow of your big day – from watching the video to reminiscing with friends – but keep the big picture in your head at all times.

2. Trying to change your spouse
Presumably, you married your spouse because you are in love with him or her. If that’s the case, then there’s no good reason for changing your spouse. Frankly, most adults don’t drastically change, so your best bet is to accept your spouse and love him or her for the ways he or she is unique and different and not in spite of those things. Trying to change your spouse will only hurt his or her feelings – and damage your marriage.

3. Getting off on the wrong foot with your in-laws
If the damage has already been done, do whatever you can to improve the relationship you have with your in-laws. Be the first to extend the olive branch because the only person who gets hurt when you fight with the in-laws is your spouse, who feels caught in the middle.

4. Fighting over silly stuff
Every married person has argued with his or her spouse over something that seems inane to outsiders – from the notorious cap left off the toothpaste to underwear left on the doorknob. Save your arguments for more important subjects. Let these pet peeves remain as simple pet peeves. Honestly, if the worst thing your spouse does is leave his dirty socks on the floor, you should consider yourself lucky.

5. Acting like you’re still single
Now is the time to grow up. Hanging out with your friends all night and going to clubs was all right when you were a single person with no one waiting for you at home. As a married person, there are behaviors that are no longer appropriate. You know what’s right and what’s wrong, so just do the right thing.

6. Rushing into having childrenSome couples don’t give themselves enough time to be married to each other. If you can wait to have children, you should consider it because you’ll never have this time alone again. Once children arrive, they will have to be the focus of your attention. Your heart certainly has room for children and a spouse, but you should spoil one another while you can.

7. Going into debt
Starting off your marriage with bills you can’t afford is a terrible beginning. It’s an additional strain on your relationship that you can’t afford. If you are already in debt, make a plan for getting rid of it. Stay on budget, get your finances in order, and you’ll probably fight less. If nothing else, you’ll sleep better at night.

8. Having unrealistic expectations about marriage
If you think marriage is always a walk in the park, you have another thing coming. There will be hard times. It takes a while to get the hang of living with this other person and making the relationship work. Don’t think that the problems you had before you walked down the aisle are simply going to disappear because you’re married. They won’t. Some problems never will go away. It’s how you deal with them that counts.

9. Making decisions without consulting your spouse
There are two people in your relationship. When you were single you might have made decisions about where to go after work, what vacations to take, how to spend your money, without discussing it with anyone. Now, however, your decisions have an impact on your spouse, too. He or she has a right to have input in these decisions.

10. Abandoning your sex life
Marriage does not have to mean the end to good sex. It is part of your job as married people to maintain your sexual health, keep things interesting, and make sure you and your spouse are satisfied. When problems do arise, you should address them and do what you can to improve the situation.

Pssst Cik Belle ... i too with my 'Arjuna' for long relationship (10 years) before we decided to get hitched! So who said people can not stay long for love relationship right!

2. Most Glamourous Bride 2010-Hazlynda Kushairi
OK! In wedding blog world.. who isn't aware of the existance of this beautiful bride? (Her name pun dah strong!). First of all, conratulations on your gorgeous wedding (Yes! she appeared in magazine. So just get it to see more). I dont know her personally but from readings, she seems very humble. My dear lynda... my words to you : "Follow your heart. Although it is on your left, but it is always RIGHT".. Her style of blogging simply amazed me. Simple but real! Just check out he long list of comments already justify why she is our "Glamourous Bride". Keep on blogging dear although the topics might not relevant with wedding anymore. Can'tt wait your story telling your wife journey pulak!

3. Most Fabulous Bride 2010 - Ash and Ann
This need no introduction too from 4weddingku. What is not t be love about this bride? ONE word to describe her blog, her personality, her wedding ... FABULOUS! .. Period ..
Personally, i think wedding are amongst gorgeous wedding i saw via blog in 2010. Sangat original and Chanteeekkk!!!! (jeles-jeles). So she will be a wedding planner soon... 4weddingku supports you! 4. Most Creative Bride 2010 - I is EX`miss bride to be
Our Puan Aim also needs no intro. We have featured her TWICE as monthly blogger. So i think i do not need to deliberate why we choosed her. Love her blog! Love her blog! Love her blog! It is callled Phile Resort & Spa located in Ayer Keroh, Melaka.

Judging from the websites and reviews, this place looks amazing! Price per 1 night stay is nothing less than RM600. Super Luxury destination!
May be another option for those who are looking for domestic honeymoon destination? Perhaps.

Wedding Crashes

My family just done organizing a simple wedding reception of my lil bro attended by family & friends at same hall of my wed (the Taman Tun Hall).

Everything run smooth as per planned until the final hour where we were shocked with a wedding crashes during the reception.

Yup! (Malaysia pun ada). He 'joint' the event confidently act as one the guest.

As first we were already suspicious (thought he was one of the caterer's crew)..

Then as he gave instructions to even pack the balance of the food and take several door gift from it basket, the groom's mom aka mama really 'can not tahan'. She started to make havoc and demand further investigation.

So my dad & bro did ask further, he just smiled and said what ever being done as permitted by 'tuan rumah'. (Bullshit!) Before he left, sempat lagi cakap "bawak makanan balik pun bukan habis ada orang makan!". Wow.. he seriously have the guts saying that!

He left the event in rushed with his wifey on his old bikes AND 2 big full plastic bag. (God knows what else inside)

It was so annoyed that we lodge a complaint.

So for those who will be having a reception there or anywhere, if you saw a suspicious guest, act fast! (He was a malay, 40++, bold guy with very 'contractor' look attire)

Personally, we wouldn't mind to offer the extra food with some gift but all he should do just ask. The way he did it that really pissing everyone.

I actually just discovered a new place for weds in KL area.

Its called Duchess Place . Its situated somewhere in Jalan Ampang. Its actually being mentioned by me very beautiful customer. So i decided to google it.

However not much info you could get from their official web. But as u browse their facebook, you see very beautiful picture weddings shot.

Oman, apparently another luxury destination for honeymoon

(Seriously, if u google - Oman honeymoon, you will mostly end up with keyword-LUXURY)

If you love places like Barbados, Greece or Egypt, than you will love Oman too (According to review).

Beaches, spa, city tour and overnight trip into the unspoilt desert accordingly is a must.

Best to plan your Omani romantic honeymoon is during April-June or Sept-Nov.

Well..

It have been a trend in Malaysia (and i think to the rest of the world too) that numbering have been an important elements in wedding.
May be it is because to ease the bride&groom in remembering those dates or that there does bring meaning!

Seriously, i am amongst those bride that just simply choose the date by random. (Yup, asalkan tarikh yang baik dalam islam). Even weird that i did the wed reception on Tuesday (Nak buat macam mana, that hall was the only available on that date).
Kind of think about it, agak kelakarlah... No sentimental touch over the date, but that is the real fact about me!

10.10.10 , i bet ramai yang dah save this date!
I will also be amongst yang busy with task to complete for this date (with gifts and hantaranlah)..
Anyway brides, if 10.10.10 is your date, wake up!! it is not that long journey anymore!

No.8 - Skin Food
Have become very popular lately. Its in very cute packaging yet affordable. A korean based company that offer wide range of selection toiletries, make up to beauty products. Love their shop decor. Chomel! Budget RM150 per set.

No.7 - Origins
'Powered by Nature-Proven by Science'. Have used this products back 10 years ago. Loving it. Simply nature. Also available for bride&groom. Exclusive packaging. Budget RM300 per set.

No.6 - SKII
The most popular item of this brand is surely the hero - The facial treatment essense. Need no further explanation as i am one of the million users. Very practical. Mostly are from Type 1 brides as well. Category of High end product. But simply worth it! Budget RM500 per set.

No.5 - La Mer
'La Mer for a lifetime'. (Dengar pun dah GAH kan!). Wide range of products. CREME DE LE MER is the most coveted cream in the world. A luxury brand. But why it is in no.5 on my list, caused i never try it so there is no proven records to nominate this product to be my Top 3 brand! Budget RM2,000 per set.

No.4 - Crabtree & Evelyn
Loving the smell of this product. Entering to their store create romantic mood inside of me. My favourite smell is the lavender. Perfect for gift ideas as their sets are packed in very attractive packaging. To enjoy most, visit their store during christmas month, to get good deal. Budget RM200 per set.

No.3 - BodyShop
A very practical yet affordable product. Suit mostly everyone as they offer from beauty skin to bathing and cosmetics! From fruity smells to all type of flowers. Very active in - Againts Animal Tetsing Campaign. Easy to locate as they have stores nationwide. Budget RMm150 per set.

No.2 - Victoria Secret
Huhu. I think every chic girl in the city will definely have try at least one of their secret garden collection. My favourite is Strawberry & Champagne and of course, pure seduction. Im a also a die hard fan of their Lip Gloss! Who ever are addicted to this, surely have tried more than 1 smell. Unavailable in malaysia but easily purchase via online, flea market in klang valley or direct purchase. Unavailable in nice packaging as normally brides will mix and match from shampoo too body lotion. Budget RM200 per set. (Bila lah their store nak sampai Malaysia kan...)

No.1 - Bath & Body Works
This is my personal preference! Introduced from another bride-to-be during my wedding. So in love in every smells. Loving their Signature Collection. Body Mist is my favourite as its long lasting. Japanese Cherry Blossom and Sweet Pea amongst fav! Also unavailable in Malaysia. Never try direct order from US but order via virtual friend in Singapore. Budget RM250 per set(Bila lah their store nak sampai Malaysia jugak kan!)

However, i think they are extremely 'huge' nowdays.

Anyway, RUMAH KEBAYA (Nama pun dah gah kan!) seems providing like other bridal boutique.
However, collaboration with Ahmad fairuz making them so much 'cool-er'. (I mean, its Ahmad Fairuz kan. A well known wedding photographer in Malaysia .. )

And the fact they have very gorgeous gown too ....

1. Get Organized
Every bride to invest into this lil wed log book. I suggest make it small so you can easily throw into your big hobo bag! And yes, get a nice one! (Janganlah beli yg buku 555). They have many really nice design at MPH or Borders. Jot down you’re a-z planning with him! It is better if its with budget & timeline too!

2. Scrapbook visualize your dream
There is nothing wrong to create your own scrapbook. Make a collage from many wedding magazines/ pictures that inspired you! Even if its online- PRINT it!. So next time when you meet you wed planner/designer/caterar or whoever in realizing your wedding, they will be be easily understood on what you meant!

3. Start with window shopping
Everything that you planned to buy/engaged/hiring, it is nothing wrong to window shop first! Meaning, seeing what are your options! Coz by doing this, every penny u spend, can be very worth it! (Only do this when you have ample time-Goes back to Point 1- Get Organized)

4. Book early!
Don’t do last minutes! What ever that you have fall inlove with, hantarans/dress/pelamin/wedding cakes- make sure you book them early! It gave you less hassle and allow brides make proper planning

5. Have a bridal journey blog
So let them say what ever they want! Its your blog! Write your bridal journey there! It can be one of your sweetest memories and u will discover new and great ideas too! Not to mentioned that you’ll ‘meet’ many virtual friends / brides. (Do not forget to link us ok!)

6. Be bold! Be daring!
I believed 2010 brides are more bold & creative. Many new colour combinations will excite 2010 wedding. Not too mentioned many weddings will be with theme! (I cant wait for this!). Its your money after all! Just make sure, planned it nicely!

7. Options for Shopping wedding’s stuff Oversea (Jakarta/Bandung/Bangkok)
Nowadays, Malaysian wedding industry were much better than previous years. Many great stuff at affordable price can be ordered just via online! Places like Nilai 3 sometimes can really impressed you if you really know to sources them right! So, if you are smart bride, there is no need to go all the way to Jakarta/Bandung or Bangkok. But if you really want something special and customade only for you, then this places are really worth it to be included in your wedding plan! Tag along your mom or sister or even best friends. Believed me, you need a second opinion there!

8. Make him INVOLVED!
Always get his opinion too! Make him involved! Sometimes you will be surprise what he had in mind. Remember that wedding is between YOU & HIM!

9. Wedding Exhibition – MUST go at least ONCE!
Try to go at least one from many wedding exhibition in 2010! Tak kisahlah kat mana… but sometimes it could give you some input what else to plan for the wedding. If your are lucky, your favourite wedding service provider photographer/ halls/ cakes/ pelamin, can offer you some discounts. (Saving! Saving!) This includes MATTA Fair if your are looking for great deal of honeymoon packages!

Fabrics for your wedding dress

If you are still in search for the right fabrics for your wedding gown,
May be now is the right time taking the opportunitis of Year End Sale,
For those bride-to-be of early next year!

Here are some luxury fabrics of choice, modern bride-to-be ..

1.Satin
There are many type & variant of Satin. Make sure you choose the right one! This are shinning fabrics that simply will fall on your body. It is a bit cheaper then the rest but will look simply sexxy with the right design on right body figure.

2. Chiffon
Is currently preferred choice even for engagement. This fabric is very sexy, soft and in case you don't know-its transparent! Beaded chiffon are slightly expensive and normally look so sweet in pastel colour pallete.

3. Organza
Suitable if you want to create some drama into your wedding gown. It is soft & also transparent. Need proper maintenance. Suitable for slim bride!

4. Lace
Also another preferred fabric for wedding gown. Simply because we do not wear lace in our ordinary day. (Something different). But carefull in choosing a good & qualify lace. Normally mixed with other fabrics and in 1 repeatation floral design. Come in many great colour combinations. Have i mentioned it will create that classy lokk too!

5. Velvet
Considered as luxury fabric caused only wore by the royal during early decade. Suitable only at selected design & body figure. Normally look great in 'rich' & dark colour.

6. Shantung
Have become popular lately as it will create classy look but in very 'tone down' manner. Can be expensive for a good & quality one. Looks great with any colour. Beaded shantung will definitely create that romantic look.

Talking about Lingerie (WITH HIM)

Sometimes in planning, bride-to-be focus too much on the big day,
and forget something else equal important for thr first night.
YES, u knows what's the topic i am talking about - The Lingerie.
The really small thingy that will bring life another fantasy.

Modern brides now are more open talking about it.
We do ask around with HIM, bestie and even our mom!
We all shared stuff like that to whoever we feel confortable.

The question is, why should we being too shy asking about it-especially with HIM?
It is afterall for your husband, aka S-U-A-M-I yang Sah! (Dah dapat green light kan!)
However, does not to the extend shared it with everyone else
or show it/post it/ or view it to many.
Make it very special and it to be meant for you & HIM.

So here are some questions to ponder:-

WITH HIM

1. Which type does he likes?
(Satin, cotton, lacey, nightie, pyjamas, the two pieces, etc)

2. What is his favourite colour?
(White, Red, Black, Pink or anything else shocking)

3. What kind of design he prefers?

(Just plain one, flowery, sexy printed design, etc)

4. How daring he wants?

(Transparency, G-String, Lace, etc)

5. Last but nor least, may be you could drag him along few days before the weds,
SURELY he has some imagination that already playing in his mind,

or BY SURPRISE, me be he already got a gift for you for that special night.

SIlver vs Mom - Dilemma's for Cik Fyda

Dear my Cik Fyda,

U must know that there are 2 types of SILVER.

One, is the BLING-BLING silver that will create the glamourous & classy look as if its like a diamond. But be very carefull with it as TOO MUCHH Bling silver or "plastic" look like shimering silver will make the colour combo look 'cheapo'. This can be risky!

While Second Silver are those 'blur-ring' silver or to some called - GREY. (Bahasa melayu-nyer pudar/kelam). But do not under estimate this Grey as it will create very exclusive look! Especially when you combine it with White ! (my fav colour).

However, u did mentioned u would love to have 'suci' look, so may i suggest all-white wedding will be definitely Perfect! If i could be a lil bit specific, OFF-WHITE! But to some extend of items, tak salah nak add a bit of silver simply to spice things up eg, hantaran with Silver&White and wedding gown with those shimmering silver brooch & veil. (kan?kan?kan?)

I hope my two cents words would give some inspiration to you. BUT my most advice is, DO NOT go againts your mom! (Big NO in my principle. Althought i did 'fight' aka disagreed a lot with my mama, but in the end, we both must come to the same solution. Bak kata orang tua-tua, kena dapat berkat!) Hehheheh

Dear Sue,

Here are my humble two cents thoughts,

A combi Red&White pelamin potrayed that you wish a classic wedding colours.
If you are looking for a matching wedding gown colour,
White will continuosly give your that demure theme..
But if you want something contrast & is up for another new colour, below are some of the ideas that you could explore,

Red, White, Grey & lil of pink (Sweet theme)

Red, White & Black (Elegance theme)

Red, White & Turqousie (Modern theme)

As for theme colour for Hantaran, it does not have to be ALL in SAME Colour.
You can always mix & match into the colour family.
But you can continuosly choose 1 colour to be your dormant colour.
